This was my 3rd box to purchase. It is so easy to work with, though I admit I underestimated how much I would need. I was just going to put it in the walls, and do foam board for floor and ceiling, but after seeing the difference in ease of installation between the foam board and the wool bats, I decided to put wool on the ceiling as well.
I am using this in a Ford Transit High Roof Extended, for reference. 2 boxes filled all the nooks and crannies, as well as the very upper and very lower portions of the side walls and underneath the headliner in the cab area.
I did an experiment to see how many bats it would take to fill all the ceiling ribs, and the number came out to 2.5 bats .
I doubled up on the bats in the side panels due to their depth (which is why I underestimated my needs - I wasn’t expecting to double up)
I purchased another box for the middle (and largest) panels, and hopefully the ceiling as well. I hope to not be doubling up on these, since I am planning to inset the wall a bit, but time will tell if I end up needing a 4th box to be able to do the ceiling as well. At least I know for sure I can use single layer bats for the ceiling.
Unboxing this insulation was quite the treat. I didn’t expect it to ACTUALLY smell like sheep lol!! I happen to love it, but it was definitely a surprise. I assumed it would smell like any other wool products I have purchased.
I can’t say enough how easy this is to use. I wish I had known this before I started my floor;…
